your child probably won't want to wear  a Halloween costume it maybe a little uncomfortable. In my experience usually anything that prevents a  child's movement it makes them not like it. just be positive. Will that said I would not put a mask on a infant or toddler. Also for their costume You should never use face paint near the  eyes nose  or mouth well that goes for everyone but for children is can really sting them especially if they touch their face
